Veg Burgers

I’ve made a few versions of this veg burger, and I have to say this is my fave so far. So tasty with avocado and tomatoes.

Veg Burgers
Serves: 8
  • 1 onion
  • 2 handfuls baby carrots
  • 1 TB oil
  • 2 TB chia, soaked in ½ cup warm water
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1½ cups garbanzos, cooked and drained
  • 2 sprigs basil
  • ½ cup almonds
  • ½ cup seeds
  • 1 TB soy sauce
  • 1 TB worstershire sauce
  • salt & pepper
  1. Whiz onion and carrots in the food processor until chopped. Saute with oil until tender. Whiz oats in food processor to make "flour". Chop almonds in the food processor. Add beans, basil, soy sauce, and worstershire sauce to food processor and whiz until smooth. Combine all ingredients in bowl. Divide into 8 patties. Cook on medium/low heat for approximately 5 minutes on each side until browned.

I really liked the garbanzos in this. I’ve used black and great northerns in previous versions. I totally forgot to add the bread crumbs from previous versions. We didn’t miss that at all, and we liked the texture even better this way.
