This week brought the first clippings from our new basil plants. Hummus is a main ingredient for lunch today, and I thought basil would be a tasty sub for the usual parsley. Yes!

- 1½ cups garbanzos, cooked and drained
- ⅓ cup tahini
- ⅓ cup lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 sprigs basil
- salt & pepper to taste
- Add peeled garlic cloves to food processor. Whiz until minced.
- Add all other ingredients. Whiz until smooth.
